ECOTEAM offers demineralization system in closed-loop washing or deionized water production for water distribution systems.

The demineralization process can remove contaminants dissolved in water through ion exchange resin.

Resins exchange cationic components as Al3+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Ni2+, Na+, K+ with H+ and anionic components such as Cr6-, Cl-, NO3-, CN-, F- with OH-.

The ion exchange is a reversible process: regeneration is made by adding an acid (HCl or H2SO4) in the cationic resin and a base (NaOH) in the anion resin. Organic substances, that could contaminate the resins, are treated with an active granular carbon filter placed before the resin filter.

The demineralization system can be designed on a single line (Simplex) or a double line (Duplex).

The Simplex systems are designed for a maximum of two shifts, instead Duplex systems can handle a production of 24 hr/day.

Demineralization units are controlled by PLC in each stage.

ECOTEAM provides the following options:

  • pH and conductivity control at every stage
  • Regeneration of the single filter (cationic or anionic)
  • Co-current and counter-current technology

  • HMI with operator assistance
